OUR HISTORY

Sydney Chinese Alliance Church (SCAC) was first planted in 1987 when we began to meet at a Uniting Church building in Kingsgrove. We then moved to our permanent building in Rockdale in 1997 where we continue to meet.

The English Ministry began in 2000 due to a growing number of Australian Born Chinese teens and young adults within our church. We started off as a small group and by God’s grace, we began to grow in numbers leading to the launching of our English services.

Due to the growth of our members, we soon started our youth group, young adult small groups and children’s Sunday school.

WHO WE ARE

In 2020, the English congregation rebranded its name to George St Christian Community (GSCC) to better reflect our unique identity as the English speaking congregation, and to reposition ourselves to be a church that seeks to make disciples in our community and region.

We exist to love God and to love others into a relationship with Jesus. If you are looking for a church to attend, or simply interested in finding more about Christianity, we would love to meet you!

OUR VISION

Our vision is to be a community that is transformed by Jesus, marked by love and includes all people into God's kingdom.
